Black Connections - Mobile Black History Museum What does Black History mean to you? Not just 'black history' (the annual event). But Global Black History understood as a single coherent, evolutionary process, taking into account the experience of all black individuals in all times. This FREE program is for you and your neighbors, friends and family to join us as we weave together your personal, local and global connections in a mobile black history display. We bring the MUSEUM to YOU. We set it up for your Resident or School groups, community institution or cultural/religious organization, young or old. We educate FREE-never any charge. To people who have been dismembered (physically, mentally & spiritually) Black Connections returns our memory (re-membering). It is a mirror for black folks, young and old, to see some of their global and storied history and touch & hold it up and discuss it. Have you ever touched a rift valley foot print? To setup a FREE* presentation at your organization's facility, it takes a host sponsor five simple steps:* 1) Review your calendar for the day and time that will attract the most folks. 2) Contact ReIdren Business Group to confirm availability (call 857 939-1461 or email bconx@reidren.com). 3) Download and choose from a number of promotional flyers, (right click the link and 'save target as' see below flyers too). Add to it your appropriate information. Print as many copies as possible and distribute to the community. (large 5.5mb) (small 2.5mb) 4) Send an email to the local paper (e.g. Bay State Banner) asking them to include the event in the next publication of their social events calendar (allow sufficient time to meet their submission deadlines). Here is an example email: Hello, (my) Organization XYZ would like to have an announcement placed into the (ABC) paper this week: "Br. Mackall of the ReIdren Business Group will present a talk on: Black Connections, an introduction to universal Black History, hands-on artifacts, short multi-media displays spanning all Black people in all times. The program will be held at (Organization XYZ, location) on Thursday June 1, 2006 running from 6:00PM to 8:00PM. Free." Thank you, (Organization leader name & telephone number. 5) Prepare room. We ask for an appropriate-size seating area, a large 'clean' wall, an electric outlet and table-top space for artifact display (laptop projector and artifacts are provided). See example left.
