   2.  Write down the error words exactly (then type them into google.com and look for other people who have described your problem and how they fixed it).

   3.  Write down whether or not it is something that worked before (and if so, when did it last work and what changed since it last worked).

   4.  Are all the cables plugged in correctly?

   5.  Does windows (or the operating system) show?  Do you have the recovery disk?
