TOUR & RETREAT (B.I.O.)

Join us Sat. April 22 to Sun. April 23, 2023

Come build black self-awareness and wellness with the community using somatic body practices and guidance through sites of Black memory in Massachusetts. Build community with others on a small-group intimate retreat to the Mohawk trail. We leave Saturday morning from Roxbury MA and return Sunday mid-day.

 WHO IS THIS FOR?

Pilot Program, 2019

Our B.I.O. Tour & Retreat is for Black folks:

  • from Boston, Massachusetts and New England

  • from School Systems: Teachers/Students (H.S., colleges and supporting associations/conferences)

  • as New England Visiting Tourists

  • served by Health Centers/Systems, Wellness Coordinators

  • seeking an introduction to Integrated Somatics

  • seeking an introduction to heritage and humanities

  • who are Adulting/Gap Agers or Returning Citizens (life skills seekers)

  • who are members of Black Associations, Alliances and social chapters

  • who comprise Business teams, small companies or corporate support groups/departments

  • who are DEI training/learners (non-performative)

 WHAT’S INCLUDED

  • An overnight guided -group tour and retreat: Sat. morning to Sunday mid-day.

  • Central activities: somatic exercises & grounding in the Black soma interwoven with stops at black sites of memory with guided histories of Black Boston and Massachusetts

  • 2-hour round-trip van from Boston to Leyden (Franklin County, Mohawk Trail).

  • Bent Birch Retreat center lodging (pilot property: run by _________
